( if you don’t feel like reading about my history - check me out at www.WillWork2Create.com )
I’m a creative guy, passionate about UI/UX, looking for a position at a leadership/senior level and I’d like to offer a brief glimpse into my recent creative history. Further down you’ll see I actually have my Masters in Interactive Design. I’m experienced and passionate about Usability and User Experience processes. With this at my side I’ve been afforded the opportunity to design websites and experiences for clients such as Gatorade, Mtn Dew, Chiquita, Levelor, 3M, and many more.
I’m currently working for a Software Development firm that specializes in Mobile Application Development and Enterprise Solutions. Here I’m the Creative Director, leading both the Creative Team and also overseeing the marketing team. We inform and execute everything from strategy to UX to visual design.
Previously, for almost two years, I worked at an agency in Denver called Motive. At Motive I served as the creative lead on most digital projects and also get involved in all mediums of advertising, with clients such as Gatorade, Pepsi, Mtn Dew, Van’s Foods, Amp and many more. Motive is heavy on the conceptual side, and I was constantly cranking out ideas. As with every position, I’ve took every opportunity to mentor and guide younger designers.
Before Motive, in Austin I worked for a shop called Proof Advertising. At Proof I was responsible for leading projects and campaigns for clients such as 3M, San Antonio CVB, Huawei and more. As Senior Interactive Art Director, I was not only involved from concept to completion of several projects, but I was also able to mentor and guide younger designers.
Before relocating to Austin, I formed my digital roots in the cozy corner of Southwest Virginia. Among several positions and obtaining my education, I spent a good amount of time working at a digital agency called Modea. During my time at Modea I filled several roles. I began as a mentor and trainer to younger designers, helping them with their knowledge and efficiencies in workflow and software, served in a management position where I oversaw a small team of designers while continuing to mentor their design and workflow habits and finally an Interactive Designer role. Within this role I worked on numerous projects spanning from website design and architecture to video spots and shorts. During my time at Modea, I served frequently as both Designer and Art Director, overseeing projects from start to finish. Beyond these roles I always worked as a collaborator and team player, ensuring the best quality of the project at hand.
My early education was more traditional, but my drive to become more diversified led me to being self-taught in the interactive field and several web languages. After working for several years I opted to go back to school, while working full time, in pursuit of my Masters. I obtained a Masters of Arts from SCAD in 2010 which not only fattened my digital knowhow but led to the opportunity to teach a senior level web design class at Virginia Tech. I was able to take the students through the basics of web design while the class worked through projects in a workflow similar to that of an agency.
